Biography

Sergio Roberto Márquez-Berber is Professor and Researcher in the Department of Crop Science (Fitotecnia) at the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Mexico. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences and conducts research on sustainable horticultural production, plant physiology, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), phytoremediation, agricultural policy, and value chains of horticultural crops. His recent research focuses on the use of beneficial microbial consortia to enhance crop establishment and productivity under abiotic stress conditions, particularly in systems affected by wastewater irrigation and heavy metal contamination. Dr. Márquez-Berber has authored scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at international conferences. He has also coordinated international scientific events, including the XIV International Mango Symposium (ISHS), and actively collaborates with researchers and producers to promote sustainable agricultural technologies that improve crop productivity and environmental resilience.
