Biography

Nanda Senanayake is affiliated with Rajarata University of SriLanka, Puliyankulama, SriLanka. His research presented in the ICAH 2026 context focuses on the amelioration of acid sulphate soils affecting paddy lands in the Nilwala River Basin. The study investigates an innovative preventive approach using natural hydraulic forces and water-table management to maintain reduced conditions and support rice cultivation. The research reported improved soil pH and rice plant growth when the water table was increased, highlighting potential approaches for improving the productivity of acid sulphate-affected agricultural lands.
