This presentation focuses on the biological, phytochemical, and molecular responses of Narcissus tazetta plants subjected to laser irradiation treatments. The study was conducted under greenhouse conditions at the National Research Centre, Egypt, to investigate the effects of different laser exposure periods on plant growth, flowering characteristics, chemical constituents, and genetic variation.
The findings demonstrated that laser treatments significantly enhanced several growth parameters and improved vase life and flowering behavior. In addition, laser irradiation positively affected phytochemical constituents and induced measurable molecular changes. SCOT molecular markers were used to assess genetic diversity among treated plants and revealed significant polymorphism patterns associated with laser exposure.
This research highlights the potential application of laser technology as an innovative and eco-friendly approach for improving ornamental plant quality and performance.
